ToolBuddy privacy policy
ToolBuddy is an app by BX Digital, Herk-de-Stad, Belgium. Questions about your data: supporttoolbuddy@bxdigital.be
What we keep
Your email address and an encrypted version of your password, so you can sign in. Your nickname, optionally your first and last name and a profile picture, so your buddies recognise you. Your language. The tools you add, with photos. Who your buddies are, what you lend, to whom, and when it is due back. Whether you have a Pro subscription.
What stays private
Where a tool is kept and your own notes about it are visible only to you. They are never sent to anybody else — not even to a buddy allowed to borrow it.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. There is no ad network in ToolBuddy, no profiling and no tracking across apps. We do not ask for your location. We do not process payments between buddies.
Who we involve
Google (Gemini) — when you ask AI to read a photo, that photo goes to Google to suggest the fields. No name, email address or account number goes with it.
Qonversion — handles subscriptions; receives your ToolBuddy account id, not your name or email.
Cloudflare R2 — stores your photos; location data in the photo (EXIF) is removed on upload.
Have I Been Pwned — when you choose a password we send the first five characters of an encrypted fingerprint of it, never the password itself.
An email provider — for confirmation and recovery messages.
Crash reporting
If you turn it on in Settings → Data and privacy, we send crash reports so we can fix faults. Your name, email address and the page you were on are stripped before anything leaves. With it off, nothing leaves at all.
How long
For as long as your account exists. If you delete it, the “Delete account” page says exactly what happens.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, objection and portability. You can delete your account yourself in the app; for anything else email us.
You may also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
